Day 24. Strolling Through Tana
 |
| authentic Tana merchandise |
We spend our last day in Madagascar in Tana. The whole day we
stroll down the streets of this fascinating city. They're many
begging children and people are selling the craziest things on
the streets. Everywhere we go we are being followed by a guy with
a huge pirate boat and a drum. Every time we look at him he smiles
and waves, but we really don't need a boat. Let alone a drum.
We visit several exotic markets where we gaze at the unusual merchandise
like old sewing-machines and antique phonographs.
We pay a visit to Tana Zoo where we see the Fossa and many lemurs. They all look hungry and their circumstances are miserable.
We visit a dutch family that lives in Tana, with whom i've
had contact by email. They make films of the adventures of their
kids Bo and Melle, broadcasted in Holland at Z@ppelin and Sesame
Street.
We eat one more time in Hotel de France and we take our time to head to the airport. Our flight leaves at 1AM. Around 1 we're so exhausted that we sleep almost the entire flight.
